A Class Engineering were engaged by Artel Constructions to fabricate and install structural steel at St Therese Catholic Primary School in New Lambton in the Newcastle region.
Steel was provided for three separate areas, the most impressive of which was a new multi-use building including a covered outdoor learning area (COLA) with striking roof design. The Aramax roofing sheets (by others) were supported by a series of beams with angled plate connections. To cap and seal off the roof cavity, triangle plates were welded to the tops of the beams. All welding and fabrication required precision and attention to detail.
Scope of works:
- Fabricate, prime/galvanise and installation
- 31 tonnes of structural steel
- Blocks F, O, K & L + COLA
Many site access challenges were overcome throughout the project owing to the thorough and detailed project coordination and site management from our team and their willingness to collaborate heavily with the builder and other consultants and contractors.
